8 Things I’m Doing For My Inner And Outer Self To Start The Year Right

If you follow me on instagram you might recall me mentioning that my “new year” isn’t starting until the end of January and until Pluto has entered Aquarius. But I’s the 25th today and Pluto did indeed enter Aquarius, on the 20th, so I guess it’s fair to befriend the thought of a new year and start welcoming it with open arms. I’m still working on my vision board and overall focus for 2024 but these 10 things are a good start or a good tease of things that I will continue with and embrace during this new year.

  1. Botox

Starting off strong with one of my favorite things. Call me superficial but I love having botox done. It was one of those things I didn’t know how much I needed and appreciated until I had it done. My favorite Sara at Aestehtic Studio gave me a quick touch up in my forehead - it felt like I was reborn, as myself! I think three times a year is the perfect amount, for me, but I waited too long in between sessions this time so it was overdue. I usually get a lipflip aswell but I still see the result from when I had that done in July so I didn’t had that done. To me - botox is one of the best things that has happened to my outer self. Been doing it for almost 2 years now.

  2. Weekly Sound Healing

I quit my gym-membership at Sats in November and swap to classpass which is a service that provides access to multiple classes at different gym-locations around in the city. I didn’t attend any classes in december but finally decided to catch up. I found that Ignite Training Hub offered Sound Healing classes and that felt like the perfect way to get back into the routine of visiting another place that isn’t work. I found out that they just started to offer them there and I’m so happy seeing these spiritual and healing classes take up space at a gym which usually is associated with action, movement and sweat.

First class, last Wednesday, was so good and so aligned with what I needed. I didn’t plan on making it a weekly routine but found myself attending today as well. I’ve to a lot of healing classes but never weekly like this. I can’t wait to make this a thing and follow along with my progress.

Last week was very emotional and I left class feeling exhausted from all the crying and releases but felt powerful inside. Today was empowering and i felt so relaxed and calm after class and came back home feeling so energized and centered. Can’t wait for next Wednesday.

  3. Removing My tattoos

I woke up thinking one day last year “I don’t want my tattoos anymore. I’ll have them removed!”. About 10 seconds from thought to decision. I didn’t act on it right away but decided it was going to be done. It took me a few months to book myself an appointment. Not because I wasn’t sure I just didn’t prioritize doing it. Looking back, maybe it was a way to come to peace with my decision…

Last summer, while in a bikini, tattoos visible, I realized - I need to take action. No one is going to remove them for me! I had my first tattoo removal session in september and just had my second one today.

Is it painful? Yes. Do I regret getting them? No. Will I miss them? I don’t think so. When will the be gone? I think It’ll take me about 2-3 years to have them fully removed…they are pretty dark. Where do you have them removed? At Eraze in Stockholm.

  4. Celebrating Wins

This goes for both personal and professional wins. I’m usually good at stepping up for myself personally and treat myself with a little something (rest, yoga, a yummy drink, a new top or whatever) to acknowledge my accomplishments but haven’t really been good at doing this professionally. Looking back now there are so many things that we only could dream of mastering or executing that we actually have now. We started last week by popping a little bottle of champagne when we reached 100 members in one of locations and I am planning on keeping this tradition with me. Celebrations are always fun.

  5. Taking Actions. No procrastination or Imposter Syndrome.

This is a big one for me. Action. Funny enough this word is going to play a bigger part in 2024 than I would know. We just rebranded our padelclubs and are calling them Actionpadel now. After purchasing this already established brand from 2019.

But apart from that little detail action is definitely going to be my mantra or guide in everything I do moving forward. Learned something new? Great, share it or put it to work! Want to do that thing? Great, which action do you need to take today to get you one step closer to do that thing? You need to do the laundry? Great, thinking about it won’t help you. Get your ass up and do it. Planning on riding these waves of momentum created by these easy and achievable actions. Love what my dear Vendela said last january on the Goal Setting Retreat they hosted. “When it feels overwhelming or when you feel lost - just ask yourself: Can you see the next step in front of you? Take that and then the next will appear after that!”

I spent a lot of time learning about and understanding female and masculine energy in 2023 and it has helped me SO MUCH! Need to go deeper into this next time but for me action is related with masculine Mars and having him next to my sun in Capricorn really is something I shouldn’t ignore but rather embrace and take advantage of. So welcoming and embracing my inner martian with open arms!

  6. Guided Meditations

I was really big on guided meditations in 2022 and in the beginning of 2023 but somewhere along the way I forgot how powerful and important they were to me. I’ve done a lot of mental work and are able to shift my mindset with tools I’ve gathered inside my head. But sometimes it’s nice to let someone else do the work for you and remind you about how powerful you are and that you are in charge of how you react to this situation or event. I can’t wait to record my own guided meditations for you but until then I recommend listening to Purely Being Guided Meditations by Lucy Bee Love.

  7. Nasal Breathing

If you could do a “Wrapped 2023” off my thoughts from 2023 I believe that breathing would be at the top. On the airport last Christmas Eve I bought I book. I spent a long time looking at the options until an assistant pointed me to to a book called “BREATH” by James Nestor after me describing my taste and wishes for this reading experience. “Nothing basic but also not too much facts” since I was hoping to get a little rest from all the new information finding it’s way into my mind lately. Little did I know that this book was full of facts and information that would come to change my daily life and how I breath. You’ll find me talking about this way more in the future! Read the book if you want to catch up or start by check out episode #268 by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee and James Nestor that I have saved on my playlist!

  8. ACV Water

I started drinking ACV water in July 2022 and I’ve been doing it ever since. My strike hasn’t been perfect but I love the benefits so I’m always coming back to it. I think we, me and apple cider vinegar, had a relationship back in the days too because it’s supposed to help against varicose veins. I have some shallow veins inside my left knee so in an attempt to fight those I drank some for a while until i forgot. Keeping habits…this time it was different - it stuck. I think it’s important to know your reasons and consequences for doing something. Makes it easier to embrace the habit but also defend to yourself why you should keep doing it. My main reason; Improves insulin sensitivity, makes gut alkaline and supports digestion. I can go into more depths of my morning routine in another post but I mix it with cold and hot water to make it lukewarm and drink it with a straw.

What are you prioritizing this January to start your year right? Tell me in the comments!

Stay sparkly,
